I’m really interested in moving into a park home, but how do I go about searching for a park in the right location that suits my lifestyle?
A lot of park home manufacturers such as Omar Park & Leisure Homes have online park finders where you can search for parks that have homes for sale or plots available to site a new park home. It’s also worth speaking to the manufacturers as they work closely with the parks and will be able to answer a lot of your initial questions, they may also suggest other parks that you haven’t considered.
When you start looking at parks you need to make sure that the park holds the correct licence, so if you are looking to live there permanently make sure the park has a full residential licence. As with any home purchase it is a big decision, so take your time and consider all options to make sure it’s the right one for you. Write a wish list of all the things you need or want, and also anything you don’t want, remember to think ahead to what you may want or need in the future.
Once you have a short list of parks, arrange to go and see them. Some parks hold open days - this is a great opportunity for you to speak to other residents and get a first-hand account of what it’s like living on the park. Whilst you are in the area, why not make a day of it and check out the local area and facilities, visit the local pub for a coffee or lunch or wander through the town or village. It might be worth making a second visit to the park on a day where the weathers a bit different and take a friend or relative with you for a second opinion. Make sure that it is absolutely right for you and your requirements before entering into any agreement.
